Clinton Meharry
CLINTON MEHARRY was born in 1960 in Seattle Washington, the youngest of 4 boys, parents Bob and Shirley Meharry. In 1975 THEY moved to Texas and Iwent to Valley Grande Academy for his sophomore and junior years. There he came to accept and know Jesus as his personal Savior and began to have a desire to be a pastor to help others come to know Jesus as a friend. In 1977 they moved to Wisconsin. Instead of going to Wisconsin Academy, he applied and was accepted at Southern Missionary College (now Southern Adventist University) and enrolled in the Theology program. In 1979 Ihe transferred to Pacific Union College and graduated from there in 1981.
On December 30, 1979 I married Joan Jensen in Redding, California. Joan graduated from Southern Adventist University with a nursing degree in 1978. Our son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Rachel Meharry, live in Peabody, Massachusetts. Her daughter, Cherie Meharry, lives in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He served as a Pastor at: Wisconsin Conference for 12 years from 1984 – 1996.
Indiana Conference for 16 years from 1996 - 2012 (Also Health Ministries Director for last 8 years)
Upper Columbia Conference from 2012 - Present
As a pastor, he has a passion to help people grow in their understanding of God’s love and grace so they are motivated by love to serve Him. The following is a favorite passage that has led to this passion:“The love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” 2 Corinthians5:14, 15
